The Olde Farmhouse Gathering Has Lost A Great Leader and Friend!

Good morning all! I have some shocking news to share with you today! On Thanksgiving we lost one of the sweetest leaders of the OFG Team. Her name is Linda Foster and she touched All of the members lives in one way or other. She passed due to, what is believed to be by a massive heart attack, and left many members in disbelief and an empty feeling that echoed throughout the group of OFG! Many members have already published in their posts and left their messages "saying goodbye" to this wonderful lady and sending their sympathies to her family. I ,as usual, am lagging behind the rest! I just went into Deb T's. blog today, http://debsprimitivecountrykitchen.blogspot.com/, and she has the sweetest way of dealing with her grief by leaving YouTube videos that are in her honor. When you are at a loss of words ...I felt this was the perfect way to leave a strong message of what Linda meant to as all without getting wordy so that inspired me to do the same. I found this video and knew this was the right way for me to say goodbye! I hadn't heard it in years...but just playing it touched my heart in a way that it said to me...THIS IS IT! This is the song that I would like to dedicate to Linda and her family!

The mods and other members of OFG are currently moving ahead and doing so in the name of Linda and all that she has done to begin this group and to set its destiny to be coming a very close knit group of artists that are planning to carry on with what Linda had started! I applaud the wonderful dedication of these fellow members and thank them for doing their work in the rememberance of Linda.

To Linda's family I send the deepest of sympathy for your loss of such a remarkable woman! She was the symbal of kindness, guidance, encouragement and inspiration for the OFG members and we will never forget her or stop missing her! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Heaven has just received another angel.... and when we look to the heavens Linda will be in our thoughts! HUGS....Deb

Taking Special Orders on Annies, Mammys or Andys on Swings!

Hello all! My husband and I have come across a new way to sell my larger Annie dolls, 22" tall. My husband has an ability to create out of wood and I to sew dolls so we combined talents to come up with a brand new way to market what we do! We have gotten into making Annies, Andys or Mammys, with little doll pins, on swings and have been selling quite a few of them within my local area. Actually, these dolls, and their way to be presented has become a hit! I am now offering to take special orders for anyone that would like to have one of these great combos for their very own. I will be asking $80 for each set sold and will be charging a cost of $9.00 for shipping and handling to be sent to you priority mail.(If you should chose a different way for your item to be sent is will probably would save you some $$$.) I will gladly give you an estimate if you let me know your preferred way of having it sent and zip.) ***This would be for U.S. sales ONLY!***

If you are interested in making a International sale...please contact me for a quote at my email addy. Thank you!

That is a total of $89.00 for ONE doll of your choice: Annie, Mammy OR Andy, a doll pin for the females /none for the male, and a swing to display them on! I have put one on my porch and is just adorable! It could also be displayed indoors and is made to be kept on the swing or taken off. They are made with a pouch on their backs in ensure that a doll that is meant to stay ON the swing won't come off. It will require the stick that is connected to the doll's back being removed from the pouch to take the doll off the swing. You decide how you want your items displayed and it can always be reversed!

Feel free to leave a comment in this post...or better yet email me and let me know what season you would like it dressed in, color of clothes, how many sets you are interested in. My email will be at the end of this message. (I only have a Annie and Mammy that are dressed as the pictures shown here but just would have to make the swings. Allow 2 weeks to complete these and have the ready for send off!) If you would want anything else allow up to 3-4 weeks to complete. I will email you the minute they're finished and will accept Paypal as payment. If you are interest in insurance just let me know and I'll set it in your payment request that I will send to you through paypal!

With any request...please leave a return email so I can contact you back for questions, email addy, home address, preferred form of postal sending and such! Thank you for coming and enjoy! If you need to see more pictures just contact me and don't forget to leave your email so I can send you any pictures you desire!

An outstanding Etsy artist that you'll just have to do business with!!

Hello all! How are all of you and are you all staying warm? I sure hope so! I'm here today to share a wonderful experience with you all about a wonderful artist that you can find on Etsy. Her name is Jennifer and she is one of a kind!

I have problems every year with really raw lips. They dryout, crack and then my lips begin to peel! I must say it is painful and an ungodly sight to behold! My husband would say they're like the scales on the body of a reptile!LOL Nice isn't he? Well, I was doing some searching in Etsy and found something very interesting...I found there was something that could be done about my problem and that is called using a lip scrub? What is a lip scrub and what would it do I was wondering. I have used body scrubs and facial scrubs...but never anything that could actually take care of my weathered....wornout lips to look plump and lucious once again. I didn't think anything could work for a very long time and especially anything that could save my lips during this cold, unrelenting temperatures! I found a couple shops that sell many items including this lip scrub, body and bath products, candles, eye shadows, items for your face and the like. The prices these sellers had were very appealing and I loved the idea of having my first lip scrub be something that can be put on at any time or place and can be used just for protection after the scrub is wiped away! One of the shops is called, " My Grandma's Gift" and the other is called, " Allure by Jen." I found a great lip scrub in "Allure by Jen" that looked clear and was one of those scrubs that was in a lipstick container and was a vanilla flavor and the second item was from "My Grandma's Gift." This one was a bit more adventurous and was cocoa flavored and was in a small jar and tastes and smells divine!

Well I went ahead and purchased both products and then was later contacted by the owner of these two great shops! I found out the owner of both was a gal, whose name is Jennifer and she was just so kind and concerned about the problems I was experiencing with my lips. She said that she gives out a trial size of anything I would like to have from her shops and what would I like. Of course, I said anything chocolate flavored / and or fragranced! ( I had explained to her that this lip chapping was a common problem and really appreciated that she offered such a convenient way to control this problem and proceeded to give her a small explaination of the problem I have had for years! I immediately got a reply back saying what I needed and what she would provide for me to help me out ...which was a lip therapy that would condition my lips and give them what they seemed to be lacking. (I had a habit of controlling the terrible lip condition by licking them to keep the skin down and in place and she was kind enough to tell me how this makes the problem worse and didn't add any flavoring because of my licking tendencies!) This gal is very knowledgeable of makeup, and the like, and knows what is good for both! If that doesn't make you confident in the items you are putting on your face and body...I don't know what will?!)

This sweet gal showed such concern and contacted me about a week after the purchases, and therapy had arrived to see how everything was doing. I told her how her help was changing my life and making this problem virtually disappear due to her help and how much I have appreciated her special attention to my particular problem. She was just so gracious and went far above and beyond anyone else that I've purchased from....and I've done business with many kind, sweet, helpful sellers! I can't thank her enough and urge any/ and all of you to visit her shops in Etsy to buy from one of the best sellers I know! Please tell her hello from me when you go! Just tell her ...Deb,(Willowtree Treasures), sends her well wishes!LOL

Hello again Ebay!

Good morning readers! I have just done something that I thought I had put behind me. I have left Ebay for quite awhile. I have had my start selling items there, started sewing and selling with Ebay, and learned how to navigate through Ebay and Paypal by having my beginnnings there. Ebay had been very good to me and I joined in a number of artist groups and took part as much as I could. A number of unfortunate happenings took me away from crafting, selling and participating in my groups and I began to feel "out of the loop!" No one seemed to know who I was anymore, I started to shy away from group contacts and just started feeling alone and that I would have to start again in another place to begin again. Thus Etsy came about. All of this has been a continual problem with having dreams and having to get over them so I could move forward. It also happened to me in teaching. I worked on and off for 6 years , and was a kindergarten aide for one year. Teaching has now changed and my degree only allows 90 days of classroon teaching. To keep my degree active would require more training , 180 hours of in college classroom instruction, and when I found this out my son just graduated college and we were looking at his loans. How was I to go back? I never was in a situation long enough to be considered for a full time job! I had such a hard time with that to face it again but in another area of my life was too much... so I ran from it instead of facing the problem , as it was , and trying to work out a plan! I couldn't face starting all over...because you really need to keep working if you are to get a following and not lose anyone or grow in a job and have it amount to anything. I think Etsy was good move for me but I can't forget what Ebay can do either! It is a very powerful resource of customers that buy worldwide and I have just added International sales to my auctions. Good thing I've gotten the strength to widen out my customer base. I may need it!

Well I've had a change of heart and have opened myself to selling back on Ebay. Maybe starting more slowly this time but to ...on a more regular basis post auctions and be seen where I was , at one time known, in a forum for larger amounts of viewers and possible sales! What could it hurt!? Just making my presence known could stabilize me to keep my creations coming! I know alot of members had alot of problems with the Ebay rules being changed and the pricing being increased and primitive crafters to rethink where their listing their items..... but a bit of advice. ...give it a second look...it may be well worth your time! I'm upset what has happened to my business that I've worked so hard for to build , and disappeared, but you are only a victim if you allow yourself to be. You don't know what is in your future unless you try! Sometimes that means taking chances and making a number of plans for backup!

Scott has has a very success for train business in Ebay and we just found a wholesaler where we will be looking to make some purchases and may open a Ebay store with these items. I will let my readers know before this happens in case you know of a train enthusiast that may be interested in checking it out! His Ebay name is Willowtree-Depot and he sells everything having to do with this hobby. So that is some interesting news for you! I can't wait to get started and am looking at it like a new window of opportunity!

One thing I have found is that pity parties are only felt by a select few. No one likes a person that thrives on negativity and thinks the worst! I tend to do that and then have a light of inspiration that comes down from nowhere and lifts my spirits and am calling on these things right now to get me in the right frame of mind to pick up again and start over with a positive attitude! I think it is like anything else it can get stale and you need to find ways to bring it back to life...breathe new air into it and appreciate that you can keep the enthusiasum and spark to try things a new way and not to give up! That is my moto starting out today! If you are getting discouraged in an area of your life I hope that my little talk has enlightened you! Believe me that there has been so many things in my life that I've had dreams of that never panned out . If I can pick up after all of this and feel good about it...you'll hopefully see that your life has hope and promise! Don't allow yourself be the slave to your life...be in command of it! Have a great day all and please check out my items that I have listed on Ebay. Hey a new place to find my items isn't that great? You can have fun bidding on them and hopefully will be the new owner of either dolls...or maybe both! I wish you all the luck! Once my husband's train business is settled I will leave the link so that you can see what is in his store or auctions depending on what is the most practical to run. Have a great day all and thank you for coming today!

New Primitive Web Site is Openning!

Hello everyone! I have some exciting news to share with you! The Olde Primitive Sister's Group, group that has originated from Ebay, has just openned their own website. The name of this site is "Olde Primitve Sister's Online Marketplace." It is currently underconstruction at the moment with the vendors feverishly working on their booths. You can view the site but I don't believe that it is officially open for business yet. I will contact you when it is about to happen.

Bebe Yeary, Off the Beaten Paths Designs owner, is working to create the sellers booths and setting up the new site. She has done a wonderful job with meeting the desires of the ladies to make their booths something that are special and personal to them! I have stayed with my logo that I have used, somewhere on all of my sites, to make it easier for my customers to have something to identify with when searching for me online. I hope you like it! I can be found by clicking on the following link:

http://oldprimitivesisters.com/Vendors/sites/willowtreetreasures

To see the whole WebSite and eventually take a look at the Artists and their work go to the following link:

http://oldprimitivesisters.com/

I have a few things already listed and plan on listing a few more items. I have just finished working out the bugs in my pricing and now is ready for viewing. Again, this site is still getting some problems worked out and is not officially open yet so ...at this point...go to see what I have. I plan to list more items but not until everything is a definite "GO." I will keep you informed with where we are on finishing this up and being ready to take orders. I have a couple things on this site that are new to my creating and have thoroughly enjoyed making them for my potential customers and plan to add a few other items that you will find to be new to my list of creations. One of the newest will be a set of prim cats with eyelids! Also there will be cat ornies that hang by their tails! I hope you enjoy viewing my newest additions when I finish my listings!

I have made a turn for a little more of the extreme primitive type crafts while still offering an occasional primitive/vintage style item also. I love so many styles of crafts I always have gone down the middle of the road when making choices of what to create! I find extreme primitive very challenging and have decided to gear my items alittle more towards those types of tastes. (I won't forget the tastes for vintage primitive, however!I will continue to have something for you too!)

Well go take a look and let me know what you think. This is a great change and opportunity for this group and we all appreciate the time and efforts that the ladies of OPSG have made so that the members could attempt to reach our dreams together!

I just wanted to clue you all in so that you are up with the news of my business and it is happening! I wouldn't want to leave readers of my posts, potential purchaser, or past purchaser behind when it came to a change concerning where my items can be found and any new developments having to do with my business.

Enjoy all and remember a smile a day keeps the boogieman away! Until next time....

Making changes can be exciting but also can be frightening!

Hello all! I am in the process of making some changes with my business. Although, learning something new is always a treat for me..it can also create a very large stress! My newest adventures are adding my items to a new site called Etsy, (www.etsy.com). You can find my shop by going to the following web address http://willowtreetreasures.etsy.com . Please stop in and see what I have for sale! Now I am beginning a whole new way to blog. and please come back to read my new an upcoming announcements. I can be found at http://willowtreetreasures.blogspot.com .Bookmark it and come back to see what new is happening. Lastly, my items can be found on Ebay so please check in Willowtree-Treasures listings to see what I have there up for auction!

As I was saying ...Etsy was a great move for me and love what they have to offer there. I am not that accepting of change so it will take awhile to see how things run at this new site. They have all homemade items and we all share our love for creation and that is one very large reason I have chosen Etsy to go to help with my sales.

I am not new at blogging but posting my blogs in this type of forum is new to me! Every time I learn something new that helps me complete my blog I feel a great deal of accomplishment and feel that a more professional looking blog is what I needed to better reach my customers. Soo here it is! Hopefully I will have it all set up with pictures and many more posts before you come back to read it again. Cross your fingers that it can be done soon and be a blog to be proud of! I wish you all well and until the next blog...keep smiling!
