NEW Marketplace Thursday Shop Features!

Good morning all! Today's featured shops are the best of the best in crafting. They have shops that show their personalities and personal touches show their energies and give a definite feel to what their shops contain! They are experts carrying out their talents. while displaying their abilities, in a very attractive fashion ! Rabbit Hollow Prims and Sue Green's Keepsake Korner are the two artists I will be talking about today!

The first featured shop is Rabbit Hollow Prims

This artist is AMAZING! There are two parts of a person that has chosen a life of creation and selling what they create. There is a part that understands business and self promotion, and part that is creative and artistic. Sometimes those sides are hard to get equalized and one side is stronger than the other and it is hard to keep them separate and equally strong and active! This gal however, has very strong knowhow on BOTH counts and makes looking through her shop enjoyable AND a truly fun shopping experience! She has perks for her noteworthy buyers to gain points for new purchases to keep her followers and true artist lovers inspired and she now is accepting charge cards for purchases!..NOT to mention that she has TONS of talent and puts it in all of her creations that you could easily fall in love with what she has regardless....but there is nothing like mixing in a little fun in the process! She has thought about the ease , while inspiring her purchasers to come back and buy more, by giving them a way to save during this very difficult time of lost jobs and money being so hard to find today! WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

Her shop screams energy and variety and what more would you want in a shop that knows how to move and grove! She has been recently picked to be one of the top 100 ETSY shops! You'll soon see why she was given this honor. She is there for her customers 100% providing quality items in an experience you won't soon forget!

The following are an example of what Sue has to offer. Come in and see for yourself for there are 10 pages worth of GREAT items at great prices!

She has alot in her shop and there is just so much to see! First find out about Sue from how she responded to the questions that were asked of OFG and see what she had to say:

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
Rabbit Hollow Prims because my mom had the name for her shop when it was open and wanted to carry on the name.

2. How long have you been on Etsy?
About 2 years
3. What type of items do you offer?

The next Shop I have to feature is Keepsake Korner

This is a GREAT shop and has a quiet elegance about it! Her items have such primitive beauty and charm and would lovely in any primitive/ country home! Her talent is polished and perfect and will make your heart melt when you see her shop!

Come take a look at some of my personal favorites:

Items of times gone past is the feeling that you will get just seeing this shop! It will end up being a primitive playland when you go to shop there!

Now spend some time and meet the artist:

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
KeepSakeKorner. As to how the name came about.....actually...nothing
special. Wanted a name that reflected items you would want to keep. So I
played around with some names. Now my sub-line "Creations from Stitches of
Thread" came about from playing around with names that represented for the
most part, my creativity in fibers.
2. How long have you been on Etsy? I believe a year and 3 months now. Started
May 2008.
3. What type of items do you offer? Many purposeful/needful items. Most are
sewing. I do alot of other art work, but haven't display much on Etsy.
4. How long have you been crafting? Just about all my life. My grandmother
that raised me taught me to sew. She was a lovely seamstress. Did alot of
sewing during the depression to bring in extra money.
5. Who or What inspires you? Words from novels, poems etc. can inspire me. Then
there is God's Creation! Awesome!
6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why? Oh I guess my Yo-Yo Flower
picture that is framed. Right now they are alot of fun. I get bored easily,
(perhaps I have ADD)will thus try new things and go all out for a while
until the boredom bug bites. ! :)
7. Other places where you can be found. On my blog KeepsakeKorner.blogspot.com

If you like primitive items and things that remind you of times gone by...this is the shop to visit! I'm sure you will have a great time!

Marketplace Monday and today I'm featuring another amazing artist and their Etsy shop!

Hello I am getting back in the groove today and am starting up with the OFG Marketplace Mondays. Todays shops that will be featured are Holly Ridge Creations ! This is one more artist that go into the mix of wonderful crafters of OFG!

First is Holly Ridge Creations:

What a variety this gal has in her shop. Everything of course that would be a great gift giving idea for any customer this time of year. She has an amazing gourd gal. Leave it to me to gravitate to anything that looks like a doll! Sorry that is just my nature! Her dolls bodies are made of muslin and , believe it or not, her head is made of a gourd! Talk about unique! Each doll ends up having it own look and is just so prim perfect for the gift giver to the lucky receiver!

She also does an amazing job with her painting! My personal favorite is a cabinet with a beautiful church scene on it and another has painted pumpkins on a picture front! Her painting ability is remarkable and would lovely in a country setting!

Her hymal cone is a vision of beauty and absolutely love this creation! This certainly says primitive can also be beautiful and tranquil! This certainly would be my pick!

Another of my favorites is her wooden bowl and paper mache eggs. This would be great as a center piece on your table and is a primitive lover's joy!

This artist has a special touch with flower arrangements and shows her talent with her Rusty Wall hanger. It is a special treated metal container with beautiful flowers arranged inside. It would be a wonderful point of interest in any home and would particularly welcoming on one's front door!

Lastly, there is an old glass bottle that would be perfect on any shelf in your home to give that time of olde feel to your decor!

Come in today and see this great artist and what she has to offer! She may just have what you are looking for!

Now let's meet the artist and findout about the the art behind the creative crafting mind!

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
The name of my shop is Holly Ridge Creations and all I can say is that we live on a ridge that has lots and lots of holly...hmmmm, not so creative, huh?

2. How long have you been on Etsy?
I joined the OFG group in the spring of 2008 but I have to confess that I haven't been very diligent in keeping my shop filled. I am trying really hard to correct that.

3. What type of items do you offer
Most of my items are handpainted and one of a kind. I love doing snowmen and santas and will be adding those to my shop along with more trash to treasure items and gourd head dolls.

4. How long have you been crafting?
I have been crafting since the mid 80's...I know, I'm old!! :-)

5. Who or What inspires you?
I am always inspired by and in awe of God's creation. His color palette amazes me.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
The favorite thing in my shop right now is my Lily and Jingle Bear primitive doll. But, that will change when I start adding my santas and other holiday items.

Marketplace Monday for the Olde Farmhouse Gathering group in Etsy!

Aren't these snowmen, santas and Christmas items GREAT! It takes a very talented artist to make such a variety of fantastic works of art! Where can you find such an artist? Well Etsy is filled with artists that have great talent and specialize in everything handmade! One group to reflect this wonderful talent is the Olde Farmhouse Gathering Team!

Welcome to Olde Farmhouse Gathering's first Marketplace Monday! Otherwise known as OFG...is starting a new promotion where different artists are being featured in our blogs every Monday! This group is filled with very talented artists from painters to sewers, sign designers, many more crafts that are made by hand. The styles range from extreme primitive to shabby chic.

It was very hard to decide who to choose for my first shop to promote, since every artist is just so talented, so I dug right in and started with someone that shares a love of snowmen and Christmas items like I do! These items caught my eye and just had to feature the creator of the selection of items shown above! I hope you enjoy learning about this designer and looking at their items! First take some time and learn about the artist!

Her name is Shelia and her business name is : Snowman Collector

1. What is the name of your Etsy shop and why did you choose that name?
The name of my shop is SnowmanCollector and if you have a look around you will see that the reason I chose that name is obviousļ I have developed a great love for all things Snowman!

2. How long have you been on Etsy?
I have been on Etsy only since April, 2009. I am fairly new but am learning more every day and loving it!

3. What type of items do you offer?
I offer mostly seasonal items ¡V stuffed snowmen, santas, ornies, etc. I also have a few wreaths and wallhangings mixed in to keep it interesting, both for those looking at my shop and for myself as a crafter.

4. How long have you been crafting?
I have been crafting for close to 20 years. I started doing quilting and things just kind of evolved. I started doing local craft shows about 10 years ago. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to branch out a little but didn¡¦t know how or where (I live in a very rural area) and then I discovered Etsy!!!

5. Who or What inspires you?
What inspires me? Everything! There are so many ideas floating in my head, I will never do them all. Plus there are so many new things I want to learn, like rug hooking.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
I can¡¦t pick. Usually whatever I am working on at the time is my favorite item.

7. Other places where you can be found (Ebay, webstore, blog)
At the moment I am only on Etsy. But I am trying to overcome my fear of CyberSpace and hope to at least be on Facebook shortly.

**Come view more of her wonderful creations today! Be sure to wear your boots and a scarf before going to take a look. You just may feel a winter draft by just going in! Believe me it is a Winter Wonderland! Christmas and snowmen have never looked so good!

New place where you can follow my items!

Hello everyone! Enjoying the wonderful sun and warm weather? Can you believe that school is going to be starting soon! All I can say is how has the summer slipped away and I don't remember alot of what happened ? I really can't say it has been that great of a spring or summer with all of the rain but I guess we move on regardless and just hope our colder months are more forgiving!

I'm here today to tell you of yet another artist site I have joined. Again, I am doing this on a trial basis so I'm starting off with a free shop to see how I do and then ..if it pans out will look into paying the fee for an upgraded shop. I have just joined Artfire! By going to the following you'll be able to see the items I am using to see how things go here. Just click, or copy and paste this link into your task bar and take a look!:

A friend of mine in the APSG , an ebay group of artists, brought this forum to my attention and I thought I'd check it out! For free what does anyone have to lose but find out that the forum is not for them or may be pleasantly surprised and find out that this is the answer that you have been looking for! The trouble is when you don't try new things ... you end up cutting yourself off from choices that could be very good and help your growth as a person and as an artist! So until I've had a GOOD taste of this selling forum I'll be staying put! Come see me and my shop and send me an email of what you think! I hope you have a wonderful day and it is a great final days of summer for you! See you soon!

Meet a very talented artist that you just have to meet!

Hello everyone! I try to come on and keep you informed of wonderful artists that are in either Etsy or Ebay and have GREAT talent and provide a service like no other. I have personally done business with these people so you can take my word that these people, and shops, are all that I say they are! You won't be sorry to do business with them...I promise!LOL

My son has been asking me to make a dog doll in the likeness of his puggle dog. I have heard so many times, " Mom, if you can make me a dog that looks like Hendrix, that's his dogs name, I will gladly pay you for him." I make dogs, usually doxies and dressed in costume doxies and I have made Scottish terriers and basset hounds. I am able to construct different types of dogs. A dog that has a wrinkled face like a puggle or plain pug dog I have problems figuring that out. I thought it was hopeless.

I have been watching a the work of one gal from my APGS Ebay group and have been very interested in her ability to make wonderful dogs of all shapes and sizes. She knows what she is doing and seemed to have dogs as her passion. Well one day I was looking over the list of items that came from the APGS group and there were three of her creations. Three dog hangers were there....a brown one, a purple one and I think a black one. They were for Valentine's day and all were holding a heart. This girl put herself into her creations. If you have a dog, would like to own a dog or just love animals...in particular DOGS....Bev is the person to see!

I know the passion of dog owners for I have run into them myself. I have been asked to make particular outfits or style of doxies outfits on these dogs and have been making bassets and Scottish terriers for a woman that sells dogs for awhile now! I know how much people love to immortilize their pets as pictures, statues and yes...even dolls! I have seen so many doxies in every outfit from angels to Harley Davidson outfits. Dog owners are passionate about their pets and LOVE to show pictures of them! I just found they are endearing and love to hear their stories!

Back to Bev! Her business name is Heartland-Creations and she can put me to shame with her dog creation abilility. Knowing that my son wanted something made in his dogs likeness I decided to ask Bev to see if she could come up with something. I didn't have the slightest clue how to get started! She told me to send her a picture ,because she hadn't seen a puggle dog before, and then she would study it and get back with me with what she could do. Below is the picture of Hendrix I sent her:

Is your mouth dropping now? I bet so! Can you believe the likeness? I have him now and is like Hendrix is here every time I take him out!LOL

Brandon and Nicole were here this weekend and my mom and dad came over and I showed them this picture. They were so amazed by Bev's talents and everyone wanted one!LOL She got him to a tee in this wonderful creation and I can't thank her enough for taking this project on! I got my invoice on Friday and I got this wonderful creation by Monday! Everything Bev does is professional and done with the utmost care to her customers! I know that I will keep an eye on her work for the future..even though I'm not a dog owner myself! Her work is of the highest quality and her service is always with her customers in mind! I urge any dog lovers out there the check her work and keep your eye on her work for you will get the royal treatment and care when to seek out this artist! She is on the very top of my list and I'm sure she will be on yours too! The information to find out where her creations can be found and her personal information is presented below.
P.S. Bev thanks for signing my guest book! If you look at the pictures in my guest book is another great creation from Bev it is a black dog in a dress! She is another great creation from Bev. Now do yourself a favor and see all the works of art from Heartland-Creations!
