Last of the nice summer like days is very close. How about a BBQ?

Hello everyone! Are you ready for the weather to turn colder and wake up with the brisk air that will force you to wear sweaters, heavier shirts and slacks and even coats? I'm not sure that I even remember any of the spring or summer being here this year and , definitely for myself say, I'm not ready now ...or will be in the near ready to say that I'm ready for all of this to happen. I do love the fall though and enjoy seeing the leaves fall, watching the squirrels collect their nuts for winter and hearing the leaves crunch beneath our feet! In fear that , everything having to do with fall will be here before we know it, I am having one of my last BBQ's of the year. I'm making my husband an myself BBQ ribs, rosemary potatoes , garlic bread and olive oil fried green beans. (Fresh cut mind you...not out of the can this time.LOL) Doesn't that sound delicious! The one thing I can say about this meal is that I make a BBQ that is truly out of this world and would like to share this recipe with all of you to have one of your last BBQ dinners too. Actually, this sauce it sooo good that we have put it on chicken, porkchops and are always looking for something else it could be covering! If you like your BBQ sauce alittle on the sweet and spicey side this recipe is for you! Give it a try today and let me know if you enjoy it as much as we do!

1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup vinegar ( I use the white vinegar)
1/4 cup worcester sauce
2 cups water
1 onion chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp salt

You put all of the ingredients in a sauce pan and stir until it is smooth and lump-free. Cover the pan and cook on low. Now here is the tricky part. This sauce takes a very long time to cook. It can take a few hours in fact. When it is done you can tell by the consistancy should be the same as ketchup. (Rather thick like any other BBQ sauce even. It should spread on the meat and be like a paste.) Make sure that you stir it every so often just to make sure that you're not over cooking it and possibly burning it on the bottom and so that it cooks evenly. There is nothing worse than a BBQ sauce with a slight aftertaste of "burnt" in it! Regardless, that this sauce should be made well in advance to lathering it on your meat of choice. It is best on meat that you will be cooking on the grill ..but I have also made this BBQ sauce and put the meat in the oven to cook. Either way this is a treat that you'll be giving to your family to copy I'm sure! Enjoy the taste of a real homemade BBQ and let me know if you enjoyed it. Any problems? Leave me a comment and I'll try to help you out!

For all of you that are suffering through Gustav...take care of yourselves and many blessings that you all stay safe ! My prayers are with you!
